Earlier this week, we began another volunteer training session. These four ladies are participating in the comprehensive, in-depth 30-hour training and will eventually become our next group of CASA volunteers!
This week's first two sessions were inspirational, as they learned more about: the organization; the role of a CASA volunteer and how they make an impact in the lives of local children; an overview of child welfare laws; age-appropriate behaviors and developmental milestones of children; abuse and neglect risk factors; and how to evaluate what is in a child's best interest.
We're excited to have these four individuals, but there is still a need for more CASAs, even after they become a CASA and work a case. We will still have a waiting list of children who need a CASA. Sign up for our next training session at www.casa18jdc.org/volunteer.
