CASA of the 18th JDC named Celebrity Waiter funding recipient

Signature fundraising event for organization serving abused and neglected children

CASA of the 18th JDC has been named the recipient of the west side’s Celebrity Waiter event, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024. The event committee made the announcement this week at a Celebrity Waiter Meet & Greet where the 15 “celebrity waiters” were named. The 15 individuals represent all three parishes of the 18th Judicial District Court.

 



The 15 celebrity waiters are:

-         JB Barker, Barker Brothers Plumbing

-         Jeff Bergeron, Sheriff - West Baton Rouge Parish

-         Chris Daigle, Parish-President - Iberville Parish

-         Katie Jewell, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner & President of Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce

-         James “Big Brown” Joseph, UPS

-         Caleb Kleinpeter, Louisiana State Senator, District 17

-         Joe Langlois, Vella Builders Construction

-         Becky Miller, Clerk of Court - Pointe Coupee Parish

-         Dr. Chandler Smith, Superintendent - West Baton Rouge Parish Schools

-         Brett Stassi, Sheriff - Iberville Parish

-         Rene’ Thibodeaux, Sheriff - Pointe Coupee Parish

-         Stacie Greene Thevis, Realtor - Greene Properties

-         Donald Williams, Head Football Coach - Plaquemine High School

-         Charlotte Willis, Financial Advisor - Edward Jones

-         Sheri Young, Human Resources - Shintech




The celebrity bartenders include:

-         Todd Berthelot – Vice President, GIS

-         Jeremy LaCombe – Louisiana State Representative, District 18

-         John & Tonya Lurry – Owners, JEL Electrical


Wes Watts will serve as master of ceremonies, and there will be live music by John Foster Benoit.

 

“We’re excited to have CASA in our community and to be able to raise funds to help our local children in need,” stated Bridget Easley, board vice president for CASA of the 18th JDC and Celebrity Waiter’s committee chair. “We have seen firsthand the work of this organization as it began just a few short months ago. We already have CASA volunteers making a difference in the lives of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.”
